Course Breakdown
The course is split into three parts;
- Open Water Theory – The theory is split over two sessions in our air conditioned classrooms. You will progress through the theory using a combination of manuals, videos and online materials. The theory is split into 60 minute modules with quizzes and knowledge reviews conducted with our instructors at the end of each moduleย . If you want to cut down of the time spent in the class room check out the online theory option.
- Shallow water training on the beach – We start your in water training in water shallow enough so that you can stand up if you need to. Starting with simple skills we gradually develop you dive skills ensuring that you master each step. During the shallow water training you will be required to complete a 10 minute tread water and 200 meter swim (there is no time limit on how long the swim takes). If needed the confined open water training can be split over two days to give you more time to master the dive skills.
- Open water dives (4 dives) – Over two days you will complete 4 open water dives, on each dive we spend a short time reviewing some of the skills learnt in the shallow water. You then proceed to diving over the Phi Phi reefs with there abundant wild life. For open water dive 1 & 2 you will dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters, on the second day you will progress to a maximum depth of 18 meters on dives 3 & 4. After each session of diving you will log the details of your dives to keep a record of your training.
